Filling Out the Voters Application

The button below will take you to the online application. The rest of this page walks you through the process of completing the forms.

The question “Are you a US citizen?” will appear first. Click “Yes”.

A second question about your age will appear, click “Yes”.

(If the second question does not appear automatically, you may need to update your internet browser.)

Two qs before app

Once the first two questions are answered, the rest of the application should appear automatically.

Fill out every part of the application.

Note on 9-digit Zip code:

Notice there are two boxes under "Zip:", this is for a 9-digit zip code. 9-digit zip codes include 4 numbers after your usual 5-digit zip (which go in the second box on the form). This helps the post office find the specific delivery route to your mailbox & will get you registered quicker.

John Doe filling out the app

Click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the application.

*You are not done applying to register.*

(Unless you are filling in a physical registration application with pen, in which case don't forget to sign your name near the "X", adress it to your country registrar, and put it in the mail 30 days before Election Day.)

Fake Submit button

You have only loaded your information onto the application (pictured right), which still needs to be printed, signed, and mailed to your county registrar.

Check your information is correct and scroll down to the button labeled "Print Application"

Wait 2-3 weeks to receive your yellow registration certificate in the mail.

Ensure your information is printed correctly by checking it with the photo you took earlier. If it isn't, make the corrections on the certificate in pen by crossing one solid line through the mistaken info and writing the correct info in the margins. Immediately send it back to the registrar (don't worry, you'll stay registered to vote even if sending it back means missing the registration deadline).

Once you receive your certificate, you can ensure you are totally registered with your new VUID# by checking your status on the Secretary of State's website.
